Late Thoughts

It’s so late and it’s crazy because I was just so tired getting ready to get rest. I am now literally in my bed wide awake because I have so many thoughts. At first I was like “awe man I didn’t even post at 9pm” but honestly it’s okay that I didn’t. I was at bible study and I didn’t even have a topic for today anyway yet again. What’s so amazing is that everyone’s words tonight moved me immensely. I still haven’t even shared to everyone what I’ve been wanting to share, and it was like God was tapping on my shoulder tonight saying it’s okay, go ahead. Though I heard his voice and got emotional, I still didn’t say anything to everyone. I shared only with a few people afterward and I felt so good about it, but I definitely want to release the hurt to many others.

Anyway, something that really stuck with me tonight is “Is God the one who gave you the destination that you want?” I am constantly thinking about my future and goals everyday. My mind is always racing about my future. As most of you know, success is on my mind 24/7. I’m such a perfectionist (yup, that’s the kind of Capricorn I am). I think I stress my own self out when it comes to my goals. I’m so glad that I was able to listen to the message today! Shoutout to Dame for his message. I am always thinking about this and that and not taking the moment to see if God is even involved in these plans that I have. “Is God showing me this, or is it only what I want?” That hit my soul, because like really.. are some of these plans I have in mind everyday worth stressing if He isn’t even involved in them? I am not saying that it’s horrible to have goals and plans, but if you’re stressing yourself out about it like me, take a moment to think of God, Pray to Him, and ask for some guidance. I have got to stop stressing and let Him LEAD. Want to thank everyone who shared because you guys really opened my eyes tonight. I feel refreshed even though I am still a work in progress and still healing.

So guys, those were just some of my thoughts tonight. I thank everyone who has been supporting me. I feel like I do not say that enough. It really means the world to me. I am most likely going to read a book before I finally get some rest, or maybe I should just take my behind to sleep. I always talk about how exhausted I am from doing so much, but don’t even go to sleep. I don’t know how that works, but that’s me! Remember that you all are so loved, you’re amazing, you’re beautiful, and you serve a purpose in this crazy world. Sending blessings and positive energy your way!

A song with so much meaning

Hey guys! I know it’s way past 9pm. I apologize, but I’ve had another long day and had to make sure my little sister and little cousin were fed. Anyway, as I was cooking in the kitchen I was listening to worship music, and one of my favorite songs came on which is “Thy Will” by Hillary Scott and the Scott Family. Listening to this gave me the idea for this post I’m writing right now. I was thinking about how much the words mean to me.

As I mentioned in one of my posts awhile ago, I was very lost and heartbroken at one point in my life. (I will be sharing more of my testimony again soon). I drifted from God and had little to like no faith anymore. I was just going through a tough time and didn’t understand why. I even would pray about it and ask Him for guidance and cry to Him asking why I was so broken. (whew I just got chills writing that). As time passed, I finally realized why I was so lost. I was lost because I didn’t give Him my time anymore. I shut Him out, stopped going to Church, stopped watching sermons online, not getting fed any wisdom, etc. I could easily blame it on the people I was surrounding myself with, but no one made me do anything. Any decision that I made was all on me. It was my fault for drifting from Him.

In the beginning of the song, a few of the lines say “I don’t wanna think. I may never understand, that my broken heart is a part of your plan. When I try to pray, all I got is hurt….” That was me guys! Those words hit my heart and the fact that they’re in the beginning of the song always amazes me. It’s like it explains a little of my testimony perfectly. I recently discovered that I’m also healing from another situation that occurred almost two years ago. I thought I was healed, but I’m not. The person I was a few years ago would probably drift from God again from being hurt, but honestly my faith in Him has grown stronger. Literally no matter what I go through, I leave it to Him. I STILL get overwhelmed and stressed out. That happens to Christians as well, trust me. I just broke down crying like two days ago, I still am facing a battle.

Though I’m facing a battle again, I know that I’m not alone in this. I know that drifting from God will not solve my situation, I have to continue to keep my strong relationship with Him. It’s okay to truly not be okay or good, just don’t let it take over your life! We have a purpose in this life and even when things get so difficult, there is always a way to push through. I absolutely love listening to worship music because the songs speak to me. I know I will be just fine, He will win my battles for me. If you ever feel overwhelmed or down and need to cry, cry it out! It is okay to cry y’all. It is also okay to talk about your feelings. I’m always here to talk if any of you need a friend. We will all get through the storm!

My baby sis is Eight!

I wanted to make a post about my little sister, since it’s her special day! I cannot believe she’s eight already. Watching her grow has been one of the best things ever. In two years she will already be double digits, in 5 years she will be a teenager, and then next thing you know she’ll already be eighteen and then jump into twenty-one with just one blink. Let me not get all into that though. I wish she could be little forever. I love her hugs, kisses, and her sassy attitude. She truly has made a huge impact in my life. I am so thankful to have her as a sister. Unfortunately I am not even feeling well right now, so I can’t even do much for her. I was able to do her hair and get her ready so she can take pictures with her cake, but I wish I could do more. I love you Jalyssa, Happy Birthday my little princess!!!

Never knew perfect until I met you

The definition of perfect is “having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be.” Wait nobody is perfect though, who could I possibly be speaking of? See when I think of perfect I think of God. He never disappoints, He is always there. I literally thought there was no way He could really be perfect until my relationship grew with Him. As a kid I knew who He was, but there wasn’t a close relationship with Him. As I grew and I REALLY met Him, that’s when I just KNEW. I knew that He is who perfect is. There’s no such thing as a perfect friend, sister, brother, parent(s), boyfriend, girlfriend, etc. we all make mistakes, but God is always coming through. His timing is perfect, His love is perfect, He is who gives me hope and faith. This is who I can call on 24/7. I will forever brag about the man who has saved me.

Resting

Hey guys, so I’ve been up since 8am this morning. I had to babysit until 5pm. I am honestly exhausted. Physically exhausted, and even mentally. My mind has been racing 10x more than the usual for the past two days. I have to wake up very early again tomorrow to clean houses, so I will be calling it a night by 9. I thought I’d just post a little earlier tonight. I have like no energy and as much as I try to fight sleep, I know it’s what my body needs. I start summer classes Monday, so I’m trying my best to just relax. I appreciate you guys for all of the love and support you’ve given me. It really means so much! New posts coming on Monday night, so stay tuned.

He Will Do It

Being a Christian is not something easy. We are not perfect human beings from this magical island or something. I feel like a lot of individuals think of us as being so perfect or higher than everyone, which is why I believe some don’t really like when we share the word. Truth is, we are not perfect whatsoever, no one in this world is. I make mistakes still, I am always able to admit that. I also will never try to pressure anyone into becoming a Christian or judging people who are not! I know for a fact that I will forever continue to share His word to people though. I will forever continue to worship Him, no matter what a person thinks or says about it. There is no such thing as talking TOO much about God or talking TOO much to Him. Why not share what He has done for me in my life however much I want?

See, with being a believer, you will lose people in your life. When this happens, you cannot be worried about that because there is a reason to everything. God knows what people are saying behind your back, he knows about every conversation. So when he removes those people, no need to be confused, no need to be upset, just pray for them and keep it moving. He will give you the opportunity to meet new individuals who are meant to be apart of your life. I mentioned the Bible study I went to on Monday night and all of those people I met are so amazing. I know that these are the people that He has been wanting me to be around. How do I know this already? Well when you know you just KNOW. That bible study has been going on for MONTHS and I just now went to it on Monday.. His timing is literally so perfect. I feel genuinely happy and fulfilled. I can only imagine how I will feel when I continue to interact with these people that I met.

Sometimes I have no clue where He is leading me, but I do know that wherever He takes me, I will be more than good! He is just that amazing. He is also apart of my lifestyle, so He should be shared in my posts. I have to keep spreading His love to people because I know that’s what I need to do.

My Skincare Routine/Products I Use

I wash my face with the peppermint Dr. Bronner’s castile soap in the morning massaging my face and neck well for 60 seconds. I use the DHC deep cleansing oil cleanser every other night, so the night I am not using the oil cleanser, I wash my face with the castile soap for the evening. I used to only cleanse my face and neck with the castile soap in the morning and evening, but I learned about the importance of oil cleansing. If you’d like to learn more about oil cleansing, you can watch YouTube videos on it. I highly recommend! You can oil cleanse in the morning, but they recommend the evening. I purchased my castile soap from target, but I believe other local stores have it. I purchased the DHC oil cleanser on their website: https://www.dhccare.com/ . They carry this cleanser in Sephora and Ulta as well though.

After I am done drying my face (dab only, our skin is very sensitive), I then tone my face with the Heritage Store Rosewater facial toner by applying it on a cotton facial pad and gently wiping my face. Toning will help take off any leftover dirt, and moisturize the face. I buy my toner from Ulta, I am sure you can find it at your local Ulta, if not, you could try Target, or order online! I then apply my Sunflower sweets serum from AYELE and Co: https://ayele.co/ . The serum helps with dark spots and scarring. After applying my serum, I go in with my Formula 10.06 “Thirst No More” that I also purchased from Ulta. These three together have helped my skin immensely. Unfortunately I recently broke out badly though… I will explain about that in just a few. I then apply sunscreen (not pictured) to my face, it honestly does not have to be a specific sunscreen, it all depends on your skin. I use Olay’s facial sunscreen. A little definitely goes a long way with the sunscreen. Honestly, with all of my skin products a little goes a long way for sure.

Alright, so my skin broke out badly. It is still healing from my horrible break out. I have some scars almost all over my face from it. I have been stressed lately, BUT I also know it’s because I tried a new acne cleanser. It could have been because my skin was purging from trying a new product and taking all of the toxins out of my my pores, but I am telling you it is not worth it. I was literally freaking out about how bad my face broke out. I had huge red bumps popping up and I felt so down about it. I am just going to stick to my Dr. Bronner’s castile soap and the oil cleansing at night. My skin was better when I just stayed consistent with these products. I was just curious and did some research about different cleansers and sometimes I forget what works for some people may not work for me. I just thought I’d share my skin care products with you all, if you feel that you want to try them, don’t be upset with me if it does not work for you. My skin care can be completely different from yours. My skin is slowly, but surely coming back and I feel a little more relieved about it. This is the new product that I tried: ACURE Brightening Cleansing Gel. Think it’s time to trash it y’all.

Like I said, what works for a person may not work for you! Don’t forget to cleanse your face AND neck when doing your skincare routine. Also your diet (well I know some people who can eat greasy food or dairy everyday and don’t break out, doesn’t apply to everyone) and changing your sheets every week plays a role. If you’re a little extra like me, I change my pillow cases again like two days after I’ve washed my sheets and then 2-3 days later ya girl washing those sheets/pillow cases again. Cleanliness in general is key, but anyway, I just get very cautious about hair oils on my pillow cases and the oil breaking me out. If you are also like me, I wear a bonnet or satin scarf (make sure you wash those often as well) to sleep to make certain that my hair oils are not getting all on my pillow cases. That is so important to me, I also am not a professional and my skin is no near to perfect. I am always just doing my research. I am still learning more about skin care and even hair care. I have a post about hair care coming soon, so stay tuned. Love ya blog fam, I hope this helped!

Consistency with God

Today I went to a bible study and I am so glad I did because truthfully I wasn’t completely sure what I should write about today. I usually post at 9 pm, but I had no clue what to post and the bible study started at 7 pm. Well would you look at God! We talked about being consistent with God and how we are married to Him. Though I am not married, I am in a relationship and being consistent, communicating, giving love, attention, etc. is so important. Putting God at the center of your relationships is also very important. So what exactly does it mean to be married to Him? It is giving him that love, attention, consistency, loyalty, etc. just as you would in a physical relationship. As I sat there listening to everyone, I realized how I have to be more consistent with God. I have a strong relationship with Him already, so I think, but I know for a fact it could be stronger. He loves me even when I mess up, He loves me 24/7 and sometimes I do not take the time to truly give my thanks and give Him more time every day as I should. This topic made my heart heavy and made me want to release how I feel. If anyone can relate to me, look… you are not alone! I definitely want to work on my consistency with Him because His love is so unconditional and He deserves more of my attention. I am so blessed to have met some amazing people tonight, I cannot even express how grateful I am. God is good all the time!

How I’ve been feeling

I have been in my feelings because I want my eyebrows done, my face has been breaking out, and my hair has been stressful to deal with. I just want to get all dressed up and feel good. I’m trying not to let that get to me too much, but I’ve just been going through it, plus not feeling like my best self lately. I know I’m beautiful, just lately I’ve been wanting to dress nice and not wear comfortable clothes all the time. I’m beginning to feel down in a way. Has anyone else been feeling like this? I really don’t know how to explain it any further. I don’t want to keep going and make it seem like I’m ungrateful at all. I’m so grateful to be alive and healthy, but I’m so big on mental health and I feel like I’m doing the best I can to try to not fall into a funk again. Being in quarantine is really making me feel like I’m going to go crazy. I should’ve appreciated everything more before.. everything can change so quickly. Sometimes we truly do not realize that. I hope you guys have been hanging in there.

Quote: Another Goal..

This quote is so meaningful. I actually sent this quote to my girls group chat that I created. I created the group chat for ladies to uplift each other and check on each other at least once a week. Anyway, this quote is true because you truly are never too old to set another goal. Sometimes I feel like I don’t have enough goals written down, but then I think to myself that some of these goals may change in a few years! I always tell myself that it’s okay if I end up changing my goals. I’ll most likely have new goals by 30 years old or even in my 40s and so on. So keep setting goals no matter how old you are!!
